About the Parade
Well, you’ve come to The Soft Parade and I guess you’re a little curious on just who’s writing all of these directionless rantings. I started this site many years ago when I was 12 or 13 years old playing around with Microsoft Frontpage. Of course the site was little more than poorly written stubs of things I liked, like music and movies (especially the movie Apocalypse Now), but eventually grew into a page about me, my writings, and my views on the world.
I’ve had the site go down and come up a few times during periods of interest and disinterest, but finally decided to invest in some quality web hosting and a domain name with a very strong back-end to easily manage my work (and not to mention make it look pleasant). The Soft Parade is now my personal home on the web where I come to publish my stories, poems, and cross-publish articles I’ve done for other websites, namely IGN Entertainment’s Planet Half-Life.
I was born in ‘86 and I’m a long-term resident of the rural University town of Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Most of my time, sadly, is spent indoors at one of my computers writing, chatting, and of course playing video games. That’s not to say I’m a shut-in anti-social geek with huge coke bottle glasses, but it’s more or less a lack of options. See, I have Ulcerative Colitis, a disease of the lower digestive system that affects everyday life, so my physical activities can often be hampered by the pain and discomfort brought on by this disease, but I try my best not to let it get in the way. In the near future I plan on publishing my own research on this disease for those of you who’d like to learn more and for those of you who suffer from Colitis, Chrons, or other similar diseases and want to see my own methods of dealing with it.
Regardless of health concerns, busy schedules, and Internet costs, I’ll continue to provide The Soft Parade for public enjoyment for those of you who make it a habit to visit. I’ll never stick up ads or ask for donations and I’m always willing to listen to your suggestions on how to better the site and its content.
